     There is a lot of buzz around having a hostess pick on Poshmark.

It is a very exciting situation to find out your listing was chosen as a host pick.

    What is a host pick?

A host pick also known as a host picture is a listing that is chosen by a party host to be featured during the party. The listing chosen is synonymous with the term “host pick.”

    How is a host pic chosen?

One of the duties of a party host is to choose the listings that will be highlighted during the party.  The listings that are highlighted are the host picks.

  How is a person notified that they have been chosen as a host pick?

If your listing is chosen as a host pick, Poshmark will send you an email letting you know which listing was chosen.

     When I had my first host pick chosen, I received this email.

Subject: Congratulations: @1nikki selected your item as a “host pick” for Posh Moms’ Picks Posh Party

@1nikki selected “MOMMY MUG Mommy hug me, I love Mommy heavy duty” as a host pick for the Posh Moms’ Picks Posh Party! YAY!

To increase the chances of being chosen by a party host to be featured you may:

-share your listing to the party

-follow selling guidelines

-submit listings directly to the host for review

-have an eye catching listing

What to do after having a host pick?

     Once your listing is featured as a host pick, you may want to add **HOST PICK** to your poshmark item title.  This tag on your listing may bring additional interest to your listing.  My item sold 14 days after it was featured as a host pick.

Most businesses have a lingo. Reselling has a lingo that is filled with abbreviations.

Most of the abbreviations are acronyms. A common language including these abbreviations makes discussions, explanations and descriptions easier for the group.

Alphabetical List of Abbreviations:

A great way to entice sellers to look at your items on Ebay is to offer a coupon.

An Ebay coupon can be used just like a store coupon at your favorite grcery store.

An Ebay buyer can apply your created coupon to any item that is not on sale in your store.

To create a coupon follow these steps:

Step 1– Enter the Seller Hub for your Ebay store

Step 2– Click on the “Marketing” tab

Step 3– Click on the Promotions tab which is the second category under the Marketing tab

Step 4– Click on “Create a promotion.”  There are many promotions available but we are looking for the fourth item in the list.

Step 5– Click on the fourth item in the list which is “create a unique coupon code.”

       As you scroll down you will be asked to specify whether you would like a private or public coupon.  A public coupon is visible to anyone who accesses Ebay.  You will make a very specific and unique coupon.

     You may choose a dollar off amount or a percent off amount.  You may also choose to have a usage limit or to include all inventory or specific categories only.

     Once you have created a coupon that is specific to you simply add the beginning and end date.  You can change the coupon as often as you like.  I create a new coupon every month.  Simply click the “launch coupon” on the screen and you will share your coupon.

How will this benefit you?

      A coupon tells customers that you appreciate them.  A coupon also elevates the level of professionalism your store will present to all who visit.  This is a great way to increase views and ultimately sales on the Ebay platform.

Time spent on a standard Aldi’s trip:

20 minutes meal planning and prepping the grocery list

15 minutes driving to the store.

45 minutes parking, shopping and checking out

15 minutes bagging groceries and loading groceries into the car

15 minutes driving home

15 minutes carrying the items into the house

20 minutes putting away the groceries

This is a total time of 2 hours and 25 minutes

     When I discovered Instacart I realized that I was able to spend time on the app or the site and I was able to order all my groceries as I meal planned in the same 20 minutes.  I also spent 20 minutes putting away the groceries.

     I am saving myself ONE HOUR AND 45 MINUTES!!  Time is Money. I have almost two hours to work and earn or simply relax.  Either way I am happier and safer and more productive by outsourcing my grocery shopping.

      I am also helping another independent contractor by utilizing their services.  I am helping my ENTREPENEUR COMMUNITY.

The average time from listing to selling an item on a reselling site such as Ebay, Mercari or Poshmark is approximately 120 days. This time frame is an average because some items sell in hours and some items take years to sell.

I want to share three items that sold for me in less than twelve hours. One of the items sold in one hour and thirty eight minutes!

Who? I am a part time reseller who has a firm cost of goods average of two dollars or less.

What? What brands did I purchase?

When? I purchased all three items on a mark down day when several clothing pieces in the store were reduced for quick sale.

Where? Each of these items were purchased at a second hand store often called a thrift store. These three items had one thing in common. Each item was new with tags. The price of each item was $1.99.

The Wrap Up

I photographed and listed the items at 7pm on a Sunday night and two sold by Monday morning. The third item sold in one hour and thirty eight minutes. The Zara women’s jeans and the Lauren Woods blazer sold overnight on Ebay. The Original for your daily pleasure Men’s blue jeans by Buffalo men’s jeans sold in one hour and thirty eight minutes on Mercari. The Zara jeans sold for $20.00. The Lauren Woods blazer sold for $19.00 and the Original for your daily pleasure Men’s blue jeans by Buffalo jeans sold for $29. I paid a $5.97 for all three items. I paid $13.18 in platform fees. After all was said and done, this left me with a profit of $49.15.

Why did this work?

I had never sold the brands Original for your daily pleasure Men’s blue jeans by Buffalo or Lauren Woods. However, I love selling blazers and men’s jeans, so I purchased from those categories.

Why Am I Sharing?

My hope in sharing is that you will be able to get some ideas and find your own success in reselling. It is a wonderful activity as a part time hustle or a hobby that makes some extra money for you and your family.
