How to Promote an Item on Ebay:

On the Phone App-

Scroll to the bottom of the listing. The last option in the listing reads “Sell it faster.”

Under Sell it Faster is a bold statement that reads “Promoted Listings Standard.” In this section simply input the Ad rate you wish to use. The rate will become live when you list a new item or when you revise an existing active listing.

On the Ebay Site-

Scroll to the bottom of the listing and the very last row has a statement that reads “Promote your listings to increase the likelihood of a sale by helping your items be seen by millions of active buyers.” In this section simply input the Ad rate you wish to use. The rate will become live when you list a new item or when you revise an existing active listing.

The late summer season is the time to promote Halloween items. Promoting an item puts it at the top of the search. For example, this Freddy Krueger Adult Halloween Costume Nightmare On Elm Street Shirt Mask XL was found 119th in a standard search. After promoting this item at ten percent, it is coming up 2nd in a standard search. Combining the search season for Halloween items and the promoted listing feature on Ebay will result in greater visibility and a greater chance of having an item sell.

     Ebay is allowing a 30 day grace period for USPS Ground Advantage to replace First Class Shipping in all Ebay listings. 

     As an Ebay seller this means that all new listings should use the USPS Ground Advantage rates.  Ebay will temporarily convert all current First Class Listings to Ground Advantage.

     Set aside time to go through existing listings and update the shipping policies from First Class to Ground Advantage.  Update your listings before August 8^th as August 8^th is the last day of Ebays thirty day grace period.

How to Update an Ebay business policy

1. Log in to Ebay
2. Under your name on the left side of the screen click on “Account Settings”
3. Scroll down to “Business Policies”
4. Click on Shipping Policy and “Create Listing”
5. Title the Policy USPS GROUND ADVANTAGE and set a weight limit
6. Click on Either Calculated Shipping or Flat Rate.  If you select Flat Rate then enter the amount you want to charge for each item sold.
7. Save the policy

This policy will now appear whenever you list an item on your app or your device.

     Today is the first day of GROUND ADVANTAGE through USPS.  The transition from First class to Ground Advantage has been discussed and anticipated for months.  This morning I printed a first class label and instead of the usual “F” indicating first class, I saw a “G” indicating Ground Advantage and I remembered that today was the first day of this new creation. 

     USPS has released a statement saying they will honor both First Class and Parcel Select Packages until September 30^, 2023.  However, purchasing a new label from today on will involve utilizing Ground Advantage labels. 

     **Ebay has asked that Sellers update any listings to reflect the Ground Advantage name and rate by August 7, 2023. 

The Pros of Ground Advantage:

-The packages are able to weigh up to 70 pounds

-Packages will be delivered in 2-5 days

-Insurance is automatically included on products shipped in these packages

-My favorite THESE PACKAGES ARE ABLE TO BE SCHEDULED FOR USPS PICK UP

     Mercari also changed their First Class option today for items weighing over one pound to Ground Advantage.  The price for this service remains $7.40.

      Poshmark is not effected by this change as Posmark utilizes Priority shipping only.

Accuracy in entering item specifics has always been important and now it is the essential building block of a great listing.

    The AI description pulls the item specifics together to create a story.

The story may convince buyers to purchase the item.

How To Sell A Poshmark Item Using Google Search

     The method for Selling in the Poshmark App is clear.

List, post and promote the listing.  But…did you know… any Poshmark listing is able to be sold using a Google or similar search method?

     Current google statistics reveal that over two million searches occur in the google search engine every minute.  This means that having a Poshmark listing that is visible during a google search will increase the chance for a sale. 

How To Make Your Listings Visible?

       To make your Poshmark listings apprear during a Google search simply visit your Poshmark settings.  Scroll down to “Sharing Settings” then toggle over
“Search Visibility” and make sure you have clicked this on.  Per Poshmark “Having this clicked to the active status will make your closet sell faster by making it visible to search engines like google.”

There are three things you can do with each listing to improve the chances that your item will be found and sold on Poshmark.

1. White background.  A white background in the majority of your listing photos adds consistency to your closet.  A sleek, clutter free color that is similar throughout is key.  Using the color white makes the item pop and makes the item popular for google search.  
2. Keywords.  Using keywords that are likely to be searched is a must to be found in search.  The more specific the search term, the more likely the buyer is able to find your item.  For example, a title of small red shirt is descriptive.  However, the title crimson red small short sleeve crop top, will pull in folks searching for a red shirt, a small shirt, a short sleeve shirt and a crop top.
3. Multiple Photographs.  An increase in photographs available for a potential buyer translates to an increase in the chance that buyer will complete the purchase.
