Recent Updates to Mercari: What You Need to Know

Effective March 27, 2024, Mercari has made important changes that impact both sellers and buyers. Let’s break it down:

For Sellers:

1. Zero Selling Fees for New Listings:
   • If you create a new listing after 8:30 AM ET on March 27, 2024, you won’t pay any selling fees. List your items without worry!
   • Existing listings will still have a 10% selling fee unless updated after the specified date

For Buyers:

1. Payment Processing Fee:
   • When making a purchase, buyers will be charged a Payment Processing Fee:
     • $0.50 plus 2.9% of the transaction price (including item price, shipping, service fee, and sales tax).
   • Note: This fee doesn’t apply when using your Mercari balance or credit.
2. Enhanced Returns Policy:
   • Buyers can now return items for any reason and receive a refund.
   • Return shipping is free.

Why These Changes Matter:

• Zero selling fees empower sellers to set competitive prices.
• Buyers benefit from a transparent payment processing fee and hassle-free returns.
