Why does Mercari provide this platform to connect buyers and sellers? They receive a monetary cut from each sale on their site. There is no listing fee on Mercari. You will never be charged to list an item. There is a processing fee that comes out of your payout once an item is sold.
For example, a twelve dollar sale of a Lularoe dress which was new with tags led to a payment of $10.15. Mercari took a fee of $1.85. A platform fee is common as without the platform, there would be no place for people to view the item that you are attempting to sell.<\/p>\n

Safety First
This is a safe way to sell. There are no meetups. You do not have to sit outside in the sun to sell your items at a lawn sale. With Mercari, all items are shipped to the buyer. You can sell almost anything from the comfort of home. You can choose to use USPS, FedEx or UPS for item delivery. I use USPS exclusively because they offer free envelopes and boxes if you use their priority shipping.

Once an item sells, you are able to print a shipping label. Just print the label and affix that label to your envelope or box and you are ready to send the item to the buyer. Let\u2019s break the process down into simple, manageable steps.<\/p>\n

Step One- Download the app. Create a password and login.<\/p>\n

Step Two- Take a photograph or series of photographs of an item you are ready to sell. This can be done on your phone or with a digital camera and later uploaded to your phone or computer.<\/p>\n

Step Three- Price your item and fill out the simple description boxes on the Mercari app. You simply need to fill out a title and a description. Then select from a drop down box the item\u2019s condition, brand, category and color. Lastly, choose a shipping method and decide if you want to pay for shipping or have the buyer pay for shipping.<\/p>\n
